There are a few things you need to do to ensure your trading journal is able to import your trades over from MT4. Let’s go through this step by step.
First you have to ensure your MT4 allows EAs to be loaded. To do this, ensure that the “AutoTrading” button on the top of your MT4 is checked and green. After that, go to tools > options > Expert Advisors > tick “Allow automated trading” and “Allow DLL imports”.
Secondly, right click on your chart and select template > TFA Trading Journal
Thirdly, go to the top of your MT4 and click “View” > terminal > Account History > Right click > All History
The last step you need to do is to go to file > open data folder > MQL4 > Files > Data > in here you will see the TFA Trading Journal.txt.
What you need to do next is to copy the path of this file. To do this, click on the address bar of the window and it should select the entire file path.
From here, you would need to open your TFA Trading Journal spreadsheet. Once you have opened it, look at the bottom and select the “Updater” tab.
Once on that tab, simply paste the path you copied into the top of the page. Once that is done, simply click the “Update TFA Trading Journal” button and everything will automatically be updated for you.
